The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It", Al Gore´s book, where he describes with texts, charts and photos what is happening, which are the multiple and imposing consequences of the indiscriminate gas emissions with greenhouse effect to the atmosphere; of the destruction of the forest extensions, the untenable contamination of continental and oceanic waters. It shows us in an indisputable way, the climate change.

The coherence with the environmental commitment has been a constant for Gedisa Publishing. After the publication of "An Inconvenient Truth", an audit on the emissions by the edition of a book was made for the first time. For the manufacture of the 43 tons of paper used in the first edition it was necessary to fell 602 trees. After calculating the emissions derived from the power consumption of this process and the fixed tons of CO2, the final results were of 484 trees for reafforestation. For this edition, FSC certified paper has been chosen ( Forest Stewardship Council ) that guarantees that the destroyed trees will be replaced by the forest provider.

On the other hand, as a result of this audit and as compensation for the emissions derived from the publication of the book of Al Gore´s book, Maderas Nobles de la Sierra del Segura was commissioned by Gedisa Publishing to planting half a thousand of trees in order to create the forest "An Inconvenient Truth" in the Moisés Estate, in the town of Alcaraz, province of Albacete.
